Eastern Elder Abuse Network

The Eastern Elder Abuse Network (EEAN) was established in December, 2008 as the result of a collaboration between Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) and Seniors Rights Victoria (SRV).

The main aims and objectives of EEAN network are to:

  • Encourage best practice in relation to identifying and addressing elder abuse
  • Enable and encourage a collaborative approach to addressing elder abuse in the eastern region, including inter agency referral of elder abuse cases (or suspected cases)
  • Facilitate partnership and relationship development between workers and organisations dealing with elder abuse
  • Facilitate greater awareness of seniors rights and elder abuse issues in the broader community

Membership is open to anyone who represents a service provider, agency, group, local government or government department for whom elder abuse is (or could be) an issue.

This may include nurses, aged care workers, managers, team leaders, health care workers, council workers and members of the police force or government departments or others who have a role in decision making and influence over best practice procedures and policies.

Membership is by self selection or referral.  No nomination process or term of office applies to membership.  Meetings are bi-monthly.
